RHS, London in Bloom It’s Your Neighbourhood judging of Grove Farm LNR

21 Sept 2022

Friends of Grove Farm are advancing.

RHS, London in Bloom It’s Your Neighbourhood has judged Friends of Grove Farm to be at level 3 out of 5 this classifies us as advancing. The London in Bloom judge visited us in June to learn about what we have been doing and we are delighted that it has recognised how much progress we have made in under a year.

We couldn’t have achieved this without you! Many thanks to all who have helped out through out the year including (but not limited to) Ealing Park Rangers (specifically Jon), Cathy, Amrita, Sue, Frederick, Ann & Ian, Bharti, Martin, Nigel, the Nimas, Gordon, John, David, Juliet, Jacquie, Fiona, Lynda, LAGER Can, Friends of Horsenden Hill, David Lloyd Sudbury hill and everyone who has volunteered either through conservation days, litter picking or running our events.

It’s Your Neighbourhood Judge’s Report

“The volunteers at Grove Farm have clearly taken ownership of this site and have a clear vision of what they intend to achieve. Though only having been taken over within the last year, it is clear they are having a positive impact. All signage is clear, concise and in good condition, and they have a good working relationship with the LAGER volunteers with minimal litter visible. Self-defence classes, in collaboration with the MET police, have previously been held, as well as nature/conservation events and guided walks for its local community, with an active social media presence in promoting these. There are many native trees and attractive sways of wood anemone here, and adjusting the site management in order to deter anti-social behaviour has had a positive impact. Plant sales have been successful in raising funds to help continue the improvement of the site. Considering the short amount of time that the Friends of Grove Park have been active, good progress has been made which is really benefitting its visiting community. They are clearly deserving of being in the Advancing level. and I have no doubt that they will continue to progress through the levels in the years to come; all involved should be very proud of their achievements.
