Nigel Bewley kindly ran another photo salon at Grove Farm where we took photos in the setting light of Grove Farm and listened for bats after the sun had set. Nigel had informed us that late evening is great for observing and photographing butterflies as they settle down to roost at the end of the day.  As the light is soft and the butterflies tolerate a careful, close approaches to be photographed.

This butterfly is a female Marbled White (Melanargia galathea) photographed by Nigel. The moth bellow is a Cinnabar moth. For the bat walk we were rewarded with sounds from hunting Common Pipistrelles.
