🌿 Grove Farm Photo Shoot & Nature Walk Recap 🌿

A few weekends ago, we had an amazing photo shoot with Nigel Bewley at Grove Farm. As our lead for the event, he outlined what to expect to see in terms of insects and invertebrates and ir was a lovely walk exploring Grove Farm. Nigel was on hand to give advice on how to take the different shots. He was able to track down different insects – butterflies, moths, spiders, grasshoppers, caterpillars, beetles, damsel dragonflies etc. Amrita from the friends of Grove Farm explained that there really is an abundance of wildlife on site with some of the highlights being the numerous birds and a cluster of baby spiders in a web under a leaf!

One of our volunteer’s Olena spent two hours capturing stunning shots and was thrilled with the results. She even found some that some of the other photographers were happy to volunteer to be her “supermodels, thank you all for making it so special!” she said.

On 5 th July from 10am to 1pm we have butterfly and moth walk, led by by Martin Smith, who used to be a Ranger at Grove Farm. You are likely to see cinnabar moths, marble white, skipper, speckled wood, meadow brown, small white butterflies, to name a few. So do join us if you can. Booking via Eventbrite.
