Cooled by the woodland and with beautiful views across the meadows, we explored a site full of seasonal life and quiet surprises. Along the way we found and smelled pineappleweed, talked about Grove Farm’s history and ancient woodland indicators, and spotted fresh badger scrapes clear signs that the reserve is very much alive with wildlife.

Butterflies were out in force too: small tortoiseshell, green-veined white, gatekeeper and red admiral all made an appearance, while blackcaps, blackbirds, robins and wrens filled the trees with song. 🦋🐦

A beautiful reminder that Grove Farm is a place of wildlife, history and wonder and something truly special to protect. 💚
