We had a fantastic group walk in Grove Farm with John Wells, where we delved into the fascinating world of lichens and mosses! Eight of us enjoyed a lovely day discovering these tiny wonders.

Mosses:

• Amblystegium serpens (Creeping Feathermoss)

• Brachythecium rutabulum (Rough-stalked Feathermoss)

• Bryum capillare (Capillary Threadmoss)

• Kindbergia praelonga (Common Feather-moss)

• Orthotrichum affine (Wood Bristlemoss)

• Rhynchostegium confertum (Clustered Feathermoss)

• Fissidens taxifolius (Common Pocketmoss)

• Hypnum cupressiforme

Liverwort:

• Metzgeria furcata (Forked Veilwort)

Lichens:

• Amandinea punctata (Crustose)

• Flavoparmelia caperata (Foliose)

• Lepraria incana (Crustose)

• Parmelia sulcata (Foliose)

• Parmotrema perlatum (Foliose)

• Physcia tenella (Foliose)

• Xanthoria parietina (Foliose)
