Thank you to John Wells for leading a fascinating nature walk in Grove Farm. A group of us enjoyed the shade of the wood as we learn't about how to identify different trees & some of the many creatures that live on them like the knopper gall wasp, Andricus quercuscalicis. See the growth on the acorn in the picture below. The female wasp lays her eggs on the acorn & the larvae then live inside this transformed acorn.
