29 bags of rubbish, 7 bags of recycling and a flytip 🚮💚
At 10am, before the day really heated up Siobhan, Deborah, Ed, Fred, Sue, Paayal and Jonathan got to work clearing litter from all around Grove Farm. The summer brings lots of bottle and cans of recycling as well as dispossible BBQs with the chance of accidental fires.
From the Flytip suggested two different sources , the haul included four beds, a cot, a car seat, a plastic chair and a bag of shoes the kind of dumping that turns a green space into somebody else’s unwanted refuse centre. By the end of the session, the flytip was cleared and Grove Farm back to sparkling. The before-and-after photos show exactly why these volunteer mornings matter, not because litter picking should be necessary, but because Grove Farm deserves better than being treated as a dumping ground. 🌿
Thank you to every volunteer who sweated through the heat and to LAGER Can for supporting the work.
