19 of us gathered for an amazing Fungi Field Day, guided by expert botanist Dr. Mark Spencer. 🌿🔍 We kicked things off with a quick lesson on how to take the perfect photos for fungi identification:

We even learned about spore rings – a fun way to add an additional step helping to identify fungi through the colour of spores by placing the mushroom cap on black and white paper! 🍄✨

Exploring Grove Farm, we found a huge variety of fungi, including Puffballs, Chicken of the Woods, Amethyst Deceiver, Turkey Tail, and more. It was an incredible day of discovery. The group left with newfound skills in fungi identification, sparking an appreciation for the vital role fungi play in our ecosystem! 🌳🔎
