On Easter Monday we were lucky to have two fantastic tours with George aka @flavourfred of Grove Farm
George explained some of the culinary & historical uses of plants & fungi available in the park and outside of it.
He highlighted the dangers of foraging by showing us some of the similarities between edible and highly poisonous plants. In one of our pictures you see an example of cow parsley versus poison hemlock. A mistake you don’t want to make. Apparently, Socrates chose it as his means to die when sentenced to death for his ideas. Just a small sample of what we learnt, while meeting great people.
George does foraging events elsewhere & makes delicious liquors from foraged flavours. Take a look at his website for more details: www.favourfred.com.
