Martin Smith (our guide for the morning) took the group for an informative bird watching session. Spending time not only listening out for resident Magpies, Jays and Robins but also spotting: • a red kite circling the area, • a selection of other predatory birds (I believe a kestrel was spotted and a sparrow hawk). I may have been focused on the red kite during these sightings. • Wrens, • Long tailed tits, • Our resident descent (new collective noun for the day) of green woodpeckers
